About Lucas
Hi! I earned my B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Washington and have been tutoring in Seattle for six years. As a former TA for Calculus III and Linear Algebra, I created extra workshops to help students master challenging concepts. I hold a Washington State Math Teaching Credential and offer both in-person sessions (weekday afternoons) and virtual lessons. In my free time, I design math puzzles and host monthly game nights at a local community center to make learning fun. I start by checking your basic arithmetic and algebra skills to see where you’re at. Then we explore geometry and trigonometry together, using GeoGebra so you can see how shapes and angles work. We move on to algebra and pre-calculus, solving and graphing functions with Desmos. After that, we gently introduce calculus and linear algebra by practicing simple derivatives, integrals, and basic matrix operations step by step. Finally, we do some statistics, like gathering local data (for example, weather numbers or bus schedules) and learning how to analyze it. Throughout our lessons, you’ll use interactive tools and real-world examples—like plotting Seattle bus routes or charting environmental data—so you understand how math applies in everyday life.
