About Quinn
With 6 years of experience teaching piano and a BA in Musicology in Piano History, I guide students through jazz improvisation and harmonic mastery. My lessons emphasize comping, chord substitutions, and developing a rich harmonic vocabulary. I integrate jazz theory, transcription, ear training, and rhythmic precision for holistic musical growth. I have taught Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate students and worked with professional jazz musicians. Students gain fluency in improvisation and chordal accompaniment. Lessons focus on rhythmic flexibility, melodic invention, and stylistic interpretation. I encourage aural development and expressive phrasing. Each session is personalized to meet the student’s goals and skill level. We explore jazz standards, spontaneous improvisation, and personal expression. My approach combines technical rigor with creativity. I provide tools for confident performance and composition. Lessons are engaging, practical, and inspiring. Start your journey toward expressive, improvisational piano today.

I specialize in guiding students through piano songwriting and composition. Lessons include melody writing, harmonic development, intros, outros, and musical themes. I focus on fostering creativity while teaching structured approaches to composition. I work with The Therapy Seeker and The Jazz Pianist to cultivate expressive, authentic musical ideas. Students practice motif creation, chord progressions, and rhythmic experimentation. Each session encourages exploration, improvisation, and originality. I provide guidance on musical phrasing, form, and harmonic structure. Lessons help students turn ideas into complete compositions. We study examples from diverse genres to inspire creativity. I emphasize clarity, coherence, and personal expression in music. Each session is practical, hands-on, and motivating. Students develop confidence in their ability to create original works. Together, we craft music that reflects your personal artistic voice.
