About Gladys
I hold a GCE Ordinary Level in English Language, and I have been working as a Sessional Tutor teaching English at the Prisons. My class size was up to 12 learners per session who came from various backgrounds and different countries. Some did not even know any English at all and had to start from the Pre-Entry level. By the time they completed 12 weeks in the class, they could communicate using some English words successfully. Some too who started with no qualifications at all, achieved L2 certificates by the end of the course. I have had learners send me "Thank You" cards to express their appreciation for my support and persistence to get them to learn. I am proud of myself when I think of such cases because my ethos in life is to help others succeed in achieving their goals when they come on my courses. Some say I am patient and compassionate and with comments like these, I have a sense of success.

My strategy is to use a learner-centred approach in my classes. I plan my lessons to use various learning styles according to the learners I have in the class, making a conscious effort to apply all three learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) ensuring that I cover the subject matter planned for the session, at the same time, meeting the various requirements of every learner.

Deadly! She is amazing and willing to take her time to explain everything!I definitely recommend her
- I could see that you speak and communicate very well in English. However, your problem lies more in writing, but do not be discouraged as this can be improved through frequent reading and writing. The 2 hours we spent last Thursday shows you can make it if you work hard on reading and writing. Good luckGladys's response :
