About Jessica
I'm a TEFL-qualified English tutor with 7 years of experience helping non-native speakers master English. I'm multilingual myself (native Russian speaker, fluent Spanish, Mandarin), so I genuinely understand the challenges of learning a new language; the frustration, the breakthroughs, and everything in between.
I come from a family of language educators, which shaped my passion for helping people communicate confidently. I'm currently studying Law and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh, which deepens my understanding of how languages work and how people learn them.
I believe in creating a supportive, judgement-free space where you can take risks and grow. My goal isn't just to teach you English, it's to help you feel genuinely confident using it.

I'm a TEFL-qualified English tutor with 7 years of teaching experience specialising in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages). I work with students at all levels, from beginner to advanced, helping them build confidence and genuine fluency in English.
My approach:
I create personalised lessons tailored to your specific goals, whether you're looking to improve conversational English, build writing skills, prepare for work or university, or simply gain confidence speaking English. I focus on practical, real-world language rather than just textbook grammar.
My teaching style:
I make lessons engaging and supportive. I understand that learning a new language can feel intimidating, so I create a space where mistakes are celebrated as learning opportunities. I use a mix of conversation practice, targeted skill-building, and authentic materials (articles, videos, podcasts) to keep learning relevant and interesting.
Typical lesson:
One-to-one online lessons, usually 1 hour, fully flexible with scheduling to fit your life.
Who I teach:
I work with children and adults of all levels and backgrounds. Whether you're a beginner building foundational skills, an intermediate learner aiming for fluency, or an advanced speaker wanting to refine specific areas (business English, accent reduction, writing), I adapt my teaching to your needs.
Results:
My students don't just learn grammar — they gain real confidence and practical English skills they can use immediately in their lives. I'm genuinely invested in your progress.

Dasha is a truly wonderful tutor. When I first came to her, my English was okay, around B1–B2. I could understand spoken English, but writing was difficult for me.
Dasha really helped me with grammar and exam preparation. I got an A in National 5 English. At the start of the 2025 school year, my folio (essay) was a B, 9 out of 15, but at the end of the year, on the exam, I got an A, 15 out of 15. I began to feel much more confident and stopped being afraid of making mistakes, because without mistakes I wouldn't have been able to achieve anything.
I really like the serious approach Dasha brings to our lessons. She makes them interesting and creates her own Word documents with different rules and formulas that helped me a lot. I also like that Dasha marks assignments a bit more strictly than teachers do, because there are teachers or examiners who mark either very strictly or the opposite.
I strongly recommend Dasha as a teacher because without her I wouldn't have been able to achieve such results. She's a wonderful tutor and person. Dasha is also very supportive and tries her hardest so that, in the end, you're happy with your results. The most important thing is to have the desire to learn English yourself, and then everything will work outWhen I first started learning
with Jessica around 3 years ago, I really struggled with reading, writing felt impossible, and I was constantly second guessing myself and worried about getting grammar wrong or not making sense. I almost felt embarrassed to speak up.
Jessica completely changed that. She has this way of breaking things down so they actually make sense, instead of just throwing rules at you and hoping they stick. Whenever I got something wrong, she’d explain it patiently until it clicked, and slowly I stopped dreading mistakes and started seeing them as just part of getting better.
What I appreciate most is how much she genuinely invested in my progress. She noticed exactly where I was struggling and adjusted her teaching to fit that, rather than following some generic plan. Over time, my reading got easier, my writing became clearer, and I actually started feeling comfortable expressing myself in English, something I never thought I’d say.
Now I feel genuinely confident, not just in exams but in everyday situations too. I can read, write, and communicate without that constant fear of messing up. I owe her a huge part of that progress to Jessica‘s patience, encouragement, and the effort she puts into every lesson. If you’re struggling with English and need someone who will actually help you grow, not just teach lessons, I’d 100% recommend her.View more recommendations
