About Maria
I was born in Lecco, Italy, where I lived and studied until January 2018. During my High-school studies, I followed a Classics curriculum, focusing on modern (Italian and English) and ancient (Greek and Latin) languages and literatures, alongside History, Philosophy, History of Art, Maths and Science. I then continued my studies at University of Milan (Bachelor's Degree in Humanities), where I kept learning about linguistics, philology and literature, but also theory and history of cinema and graduated with a final dissertation about Italian Cinematographic Comedy in the Sixties. For the past two years I have been working within the Learning Support and EAL department in a central London leading Primary School and as a Teacher of Italian as a second language for both children and adults. After earning a DITALS teaching qualification to teach Italian as a foreign language (November 2020, University for Foreigners of Siena), in March 2021 I completed my CELTA Training and qualified to teach English as a foreign language.
Besides languages, I am a fan of dance, theatre and film, which I am very much enjoying here in London!
