About Fathima Simla
I’m Simla, a medical student at King’s College London with a real passion for both learning and teaching. I’ve been tutoring students online for over 4 years, during which many of my students have achieved top grades and grown in confidence. Having gone through the challenges of exams myself, I understand how overwhelming the process can feel but I also know the difference the right guidance and support can make. I started tutoring because I enjoy breaking down complex topics into clear, structured steps and helping students see that they’re capable of more than they might think. My approach combines teaching content aligned with the specification, using quizzes and active recall to strengthen memory, and reviewing past papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports to sharpen exam technique. Alongside this, I provide targeted feedback, highlight common pitfalls, and share personalised strategies so students feel prepared and confident. Beyond one-to-one tutoring, I’ve also run workshops for aspiring medical students, mentored younger learners, and supported widening participation students through my charity, MedReach. These experiences have shown me how rewarding it is to help students not only reach their academic goals but also believe in their potential.

My tutoring approach is clear, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by teaching content directly aligned with the specification to ensure strong foundational knowledge. To develop exam technique, I incorporate past papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports, helping students understand what examiners are looking for and how to apply their knowledge effectively. I also provide targeted feedback, highlight common pitfalls, and share personalised strategies to improve performance. Above all, I aim to create a supportive learning environment that builds confidence, encourages curiosity, and motivates students to reach their full potential.
