About Novan
About my experience
I’ve been consistently working as a part-time Mathematics and Science tutor for High School students during the past four (4 years). At weekdays, I work as a private tutor while during weekends I provide free tutoring services for students who cannot afford to pay for tutoring sessions at our local community. I have received positive feedbacks from my tutees and that gives me the confidence about my ability to help hone those who are willing to learn with me.

My Strategies
I’ve been using the A-T-E (Assess-Teach-Evaluate) technique in teaching.
Prior to every tutoring session, I usually provide pre-assessment questionnaires for me to find out about the prior knowledge, if there are any, of my tutees about certain lessons or topics. The pre-assessment will help me strategically determine the concepts of a particular topic that my tutees are struggling at.
After the pre-assessment, formal tutoring ensues. I make comprehensive discussions for a certain lesson by elaborately explaining its major concepts. I also give clear and step-by-step solutions to mathematical problems. When needed, I will provide manually solved mathematical PDF form, so that my tutees will be able to practice solving too at the comfort of their homes. For years of being a tutors, I have been encouraging my tutees to never hesitate TO ASK, and to never feel inferior to me. I’ve always wanted to create a healthy and friendly learning space for my learners, and keep it as interactive as possible. Even if it’s beyond my working hours, I never decline queries from my tutees.
