About Adam
I am currently a student at Oxford University studying for a degree in History and Economics, and work as a dedicated and passionate tutor during vacations.
Having tutored my younger sister to success in her 11+ examinations, I began to tutor family friends' children in a range of subjects, from a variety of GCSEs, to A-levels in history, mathematics & chemistry, to UCAS personal statement and Oxbridge aptitude test & interview preparation. Having achieved notable successes, I was encouraged to professionalise my service for local parents who wanted to see their children reach their maximum potential. I am currently working as a tutor at Chalk-n-Duster Tutors in Hounslow, whilst also offering private one-on-one tutoring sessions.
My specialities are the subjects I am currently studying at university, history and economics, but my straight A and A* record throughout GCSEs and A-Levels means I am more than willing to offer sessions in the subjects listed below. In addition to preparing for a specific exam, I believe in instilling an ethic of independent and methodical revision, and am a firm believer in the transferable 'study skills' and techniques that have allowed me to excel in exams regardless of the subject.
On a personal level, satisfied families have told me that my age and open, enthusiastic character have allowed me to quickly develop the crucial personal relationship with students that then allows me to ensure their success. I also ensure that students and parents can contact me at short notice, be it through e-mail, text or webcam, if they require any assistance outside of our sessions.
