Jiya is a respected tutor in our community. She is highly recommended for her commitment and the quality of her lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Jiya
I take tutoring seriously and come prepared for each session with a clear sense of what the student needs to work on. I have over four years of tutoring experience and a strong background in math, including coursework through calculus, so I am familiar with a wide range of topics and where students tend to struggle. That experience helps me explain ideas in a way that is clear and adjusted to each student, rather than one-size-fits-all.
I am consistent and reliable, and I make sure both students and parents have a clear sense of progress over time. The goal is to create a focused, comfortable environment where students can improve steadily and feel more confident in their abilities.

A lot of students get used to waiting for someone to show them the next step, and over time that makes math feel harder than it actually is. I try to shift that by helping students rely more on their own thinking. I pay attention to how they approach problems and guide them toward methods that make sense to them, so they are not just following steps but understanding what they are doing.
I give students time to work through ideas before stepping in, then help them adjust their reasoning so they can move forward with more confidence. As they improve, they start to check their own work more carefully and get less stuck when something feels unfamiliar.
I am excited to support your child in whatever they need, whether that is keeping up with schoolwork, getting ahead, or simply building more confidence.

An absolute rock star. Jiya is so incredible at teaching English. English is my second language and so learning something completely new was so difficult. She was able to break it down and help me understand it in ways I never thought of before. Definitely reach out.
Jiya was my daughter's English tutor for about a year and the change we saw in her grammar and ability to write was amazing. She is very understanding and dedicated.
Jiya connects so well with middle schoolers and made heavy reading comprehension feel completely manageable for my son.
Jiya has been a great Algebra 2 tutor for my daughter. She explains concepts in a clear and coherent way and takes the time to make sure my daughter is not just following steps but understanding the material. I have noticed her confidence grow along with her grades, which has been really reassuring as a parent. I would definitely recommend Jiya to anyone looking for thoughtful and effective support.
