About Basile
After graduating with a PhD at the University of Sheffield, I worked as a Statistician tutor at the University and as a data scientist in the industry. I am now an AI Research Engineer at the University of Sheffield. I bring both expertise and a passion for teaching to my lessons. I adapt each lesson to the individual needs and goals of the student. I can deliver reports where I explain the solutions. But I also prioritise a hands-on, practical approach where students learn by solving real-world problems. I emphasise interactive learning, encouraging students to ask questions, apply concepts, and practise critical thinking. Depending on the subject, I use tools such as coding exercises, statistical modelling, and step-by-step problem-solving to ensure students grasp the material effectively. I hold extensive experience in statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence. Currently, I work as an AI engineer at the University of Sheffield, where I focus on Python, R, and advanced statistical methods. Additionally, I have a solid background in tutoring, guiding students and professionals in programming, data analysis, and machine learning. I have worked with students from various levels, including beginners and professionals looking to upskill.
