My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel confident to explore and question. I believe that every student has the potential to excel in math with the right guidance and encouragement.
Experience and Expertise
Classroom Teaching
In my years as a classroom teacher, I have had the privilege of teaching diverse groups of students. From third graders just beginning to grasp the basics of arithmetic to ninth graders tackling the complexities of algebra and geometry, I have developed a versatile teaching style tailored to meet the needs of each grade level. My lessons are designed to be interactive and hands-on, utilizing a variety of resources and technologies to enhance learning.
One-on-One Tutoring
Tutoring allows me to focus on individual students, providing personalized instruction that addresses their unique challenges and goals. I take pride in my ability to identify each student's strengths and areas for improvement, crafting customized lesson plans that foster growth and self-confidence. My one-on-one sessions are dynamic and engaging, aimed at making math both accessible and enjoyable.
Student Success Stories
Many of my students have shown remarkable improvement in their math skills, with some advancing to higher-level math courses and others achieving top scores in standardized tests.
Personal Approach
I understand that every student learns differently. Having a special education degree and many years experience has helped me to create an approach with a customized learning experience that caters to individual needs. I use a variety of teaching tools, including visual aids, interactive activities, and real-world applications, to make math relatable and interesting. Building a positive rapport with my students is key, as it helps create a trusting and motivating learning environment.
