About Alma
I am a rising sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis planning to major in Biomedical Engineering and minor in math. I have taken math through the calculus series, matrix and linear algebra, differential equations and foundations for higher math (proofs). I have taken college level chemistry, physics and biology and feel confident tutoring any science. Additionally I have taken 11 years of Spanish and am an advanced speaker. When not working on school, I love playing soccer, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. I care about people and I care about learning and will be an invested tutor.

As I tutor my goal is for students not to just understand how to do problems, but to learn the reasoning behind everything and understand the mechanics of how it all works. I have different approaches for how to teach every topic I teach so that the student leaves with a deep understanding. I easily adapt curriculum and can go off script if need be, but always plan lessons ahead of time. I give students a broad context of what they are learning, make sure to meet them where they are at, and try to get them to enjoy the learning process!
