About Slater

I have been practicing on my own for years using books, videos, photos, life, and the greats of art history to guide me and I hope you see that in my works!

I will be the first to admit that I am not a professional artist. While I seriously considered studying art in school, I chose instead to pursue a different field while drawing in my free time. I would rather my portfolio attest to my skills instead of my credentials. Many people leave art school with poor or middling skills because art cannot be restricted to just one semester.

About the lesson

Hi all! I am a hobby artist who has loved to draw for years and years. I am nearly completely self-taught to the shock of many people, but this comes with the benefit of knowing what works and what doesn't.

I would love to work with really just anyone who thinks they could learn a thing or two from me, but I would love to work with anyone who just wants to start from scratch or refresh themselves on the basics. I want everyone who wants to draw to learn this precious skill.

I am willing to either provide critiques on individual pieces you may have, or meet for a lesson where we can discuss drawing techniques and art history.
