About Carson
I'd say that my service stands out because of my personality. As someone that has used a tutor in the past for another language, the ability for a tutor to be energetic, bright, and enetertaining -- especially in subjects that people find boring or difficult -- is extremely important. After over 5 years of experience tutoring, I still have the same smiling enthusiasm in tutoring that I had when I began!
Overall, the best part of tutoring is seeing the students return with improved test scores and renewed self confidence. Many times STEM subjects can be a source of tension and stress, but this doesn't have to be! Using my simple explanations, conversational approach, and dedicated practice, students are set up for success!
I have always excelled in STEM subjects. Coupled with my eccentric, outgoing personality, this gift has led me to find joy in helping others understand the concepts that I understand! Especially with math and science, I find that there are so many people that lack proper explanation -- not ability!
Throughout my entire life, I have excelled in STEM classes -- scoring a 4 or 5 on 9 different AP exams during my time in high school (Calculus BC, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, US History, US Government, Computer Science A). Furthermore, I have worked as a tutor both during high school, as a member of the National Honor Society, and as a freelance college student.

With new students, I tend to focus on the work that is directly happening in the classroom where they are struggling (eg. poor performing assignments, current homework, etc.). Once identifying a topic where the student needs improvement, we begin the tutoring process of explanation and examples.
I have worked with all kinds of students. My youngest student was just exiting the fifth grade, and my oldest students were returning to college in their 40s! While I enjoy working with students of all ages, I typically work with junior high and high school kids.
