About Bob
I’m a Doncaster-based multidisciplinary coach working with Year 7–12 students (and beyond) across Melbourne. Rather than traditional single-subject tutoring, PolymathEd blends core mathematics with coding, maker activities, science, brain training, and open-ended investigative projects. Boundaries between disciplines are intentionally permeable — sessions often flow naturally into fascinating tangents such as human language families, cosmology, natural history, intelligence, and even speculative topics drawn from broader curiosity and declassified reports.
My approach nurtures genuine understanding, creativity, confidence, and long-term academic resilience. Students frequently tell me that sessions feel engaging and energising rather than a chore, leading to improved results, stronger motivation, and skills that extend well beyond the classroom.
All sessions are fully personalised to the student’s strengths, learning style, and goals — whether the focus is lifting maths performance, building STEM confidence, or exploring interconnected ideas that spark deeper thinking and capability.
Available for face-to-face sessions in Melbourne suburbs or fully remote via Zoom.

At PolymathEd, every lesson is personalised and designed to be genuinely engaging. We blend core mathematics with coding, maker activities, science, brain training, and open-ended investigative projects. Here’s how we work together:
1. Understand the student’s current needs and goals
We start by exploring what the student wants to achieve — whether lifting maths results, building STEM confidence, or diving into interconnected ideas that spark curiosity.
2. Identify gaps in understanding
Many maths difficulties stem from small foundational gaps. I pinpoint these quickly so we address the root cause rather than just the symptoms.
3. Clear explanations with real-world connections
Concepts are explained step-by-step using clear language, worked examples, and links to coding, science, maker projects, or broader ideas (cosmology, language, intelligence, etc.). We explore tangents when they arise naturally — these moments often create the biggest “aha!” breakthroughs.
4. Guided practice + open-ended exploration
The student applies new ideas with support, then we move into creative projects or investigations that build accuracy, confidence, creativity, and long-term resilience. Pace is adjusted so learning feels energising and manageable.
Sessions leave students motivated and excited for the next one — not drained.
