About Dave
I currently attend San Diego State University, but I used to live in San Luis Obispo and attend Cuesta College, where I got my start in tutoring. I have many hours of experience helping math and engineering students not only finish their homework but also understand the concepts and help make those seemingly infeasible homework assignments fly right by. I am not just another tutor to help with homework. My goal is to get my student to the point where they can complete their assignments readily and feel confident and prepared for future homework, quizzes, and exams. I've been a student for many years, so I can definitely understand what methods of teaching work and those that don't, as well as how to inspire a positive attitude about learning.

As a student myself, I understand how both a good teacher and a bad teacher can affect the learning abilities of a student.
My teaching method employs visual cues and metaphors to help students grasp the concept. I can give both daily and weekly lessons.
The typical plan for one lesson doesn't follow a specific curriculum. My method involves the student showing me the subject matter on which they are struggling or don't understand, and together we will work through the material with me helping only on the occasion that they need it.
My teaching stands out because I take a relatively hands-off approach to tutoring. I strive to help the student grasp the material on their own using whatever help they need from me, so that they can understand it in a way that is tailored to them. You don't learn anything when everything is spoon-fed to you.
These lessons are for the high school or community college student who is willing to ask for help in the field of Math, specifically with Precalculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra, and Physics. Although, should my services be needed/desired to help younger students with math, I would be happy to oblige.
