About Martin
I have been a project manager in the Information Technology field for much of my career. During these projects, there was often some focus on skill transfer and training of staff and clients. This awoke a deep passion for teaching, as I truly feel teaching is my way of making the world a better place for many people.
I got a TEFL certificate and taught ESL to Chinese, Turkish, Spanish, and Middle Eastern learners of all ages (foundation phase to business English for companies). I have been transitioning this into STEM subjects over the last four years, as those are the subjects where my true passions lie.
I also enjoy and practice many forms of art and like to incorporate that creativity in my work as well.

Learning in a classroom can often cause weaker students to be left behind. The challenge is that a classroom can not always cater for each students unique learning style.
This is where a one on one tutor has the opportunity to connect with a learner and help them develop their own unique style of learning. My classes would be focused on critical thinking, problem solving and developing learning skills rather than simply regurgitating the textbooks they have already seen in class. These skills are applicable in many other aspects of life and will add great value to a learner's education.
I present my classes in English, but will be able to assist in Afrikaans if needed as well. I look forward to seeing you in class!
