About Liam
I am a Master’s student in Biostatistics at Duke University and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied bioengineering and mathematics. I have over seven years of tutoring experience working with students across a range of math and science subjects.
Through this experience, I have developed a strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt my teaching style to different learning needs. My academic background has given me a solid foundation in math, science, and analytical problem-solving, while my tutoring experience has helped me understand how to effectively support students at different levels.
I take a professional and structured approach to tutoring, while also being patient and approachable. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is not only to help students improve their performance, but also to help them develop long-term skills and independence.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building a strong understanding of core concepts while helping students develop confidence and problem-solving skills. I break down complex topics in math and science into simple, intuitive steps and adjust my explanations based on each student’s learning style.
A typical lesson starts by identifying areas of confusion or reviewing recent material, followed by guided problem-solving where I walk through concepts step-by-step. I then have students apply what they’ve learned with practice problems to ensure they can work independently. I also emphasize patterns and strategies so students can approach new problems with confidence, not just memorize solutions.
I work with middle school, high school, and college students in subjects including algebra, calculus, statistics, physics, biology, and chemistry. My background in bioengineering and biostatistics allows me to connect concepts to real-world applications, helping students better understand why the material matters.
What sets me apart is my ability to make difficult material feel manageable and my focus on long-term understanding rather than short-term memorization. My sessions are structured, efficient, and tailored to each student’s goals.
