About Jennifer Lee

I am a Filipino but very proud to say that I have a neutralized accent. I was very determined to be speak like an American when I was younger. So, I really tried to watch English movies and imitated how they spoke. Because of my great interest in English and to speak well, I never stopped improving myself and mostly allotted time to watch English videos. My communication skills, both in oral and written form, are my strengths. I am a keen listener and a very detailed person. Because of this, I can listen well to student's weaknesses while they speak and I provide them necessary corrections.
I focused on a teaching career in 2014. Although I have been in an ESL school since 2006, my job was not teaching. 2014 was where I realized I had the passion for teaching. I have taught varied students of different ages, different levels, different objectives as to why they want to learn English.
When I have the time, I enjoy reading books, listening to music or watching movies. I also enjoy listening or reading about people's lives or other cultures. I enjoy talking to people especially those eager to learn more.

About the lesson

I base my lessons on the interests and needs of the students. Sometimes, I allow the request of students but I integrate it with the goal for the day. I encourage my student to work with me so that we can be partners in helping him become more proficient in English. I provide varied activities and give homework too, but at the same time, I make the class fun/enjoyable. The students can expect additional information for I go beyond than what they can just see in their books or lesson materials. Finally, I make sure that the student has more opportunities to speak and express their thoughts, and they can even ask questions. I provide alternative expressions or words that they can utilize at work, in school or just for their personal life. I allow them to make mistakes because making mistakes is part of learning. At the same time, I provide guidance all throughout and provide comprehensive notes too.
