About Emelye

I studied at the London College of Music where I achieved a 1:1 Masters Degree in Music Composition.
I started teaching piano in 2014 after I achieved my ABRSM grade 8 piano certification and since then I have taught over 20 young students who have all passed their graded exams.

About the lesson

I am a friendly, reliable and flexible tutor who understands each student is different. I have previously taught complete beginners from aged 5 upwards as well as those who have prior musical knowledge.
I use the ABRSM piano and music theory syllabuses as the basis for my teaching, ensuring students are learning the necessary skills and requirements for their level.
I teach music reading and theory as well as piano playing so my students have a deeper understanding of music and can apply knowledge to other instruments they may learn.
I am caring, passionate and enthusiastic about providing engaging and challenging learning experiences. My aim is to assist, encourage and support students to achieve their individual learning goals.

Tania

Emelye is an excellent piano teacher who has been teaching my son for about 2 years now. He had previously had lessons at his school but his progress was very slow. As soon as we found Emelye, who had been recommended to us by a friend (who's children she was also teaching), his progress rocketed. She is extremely patient, calm and gentle and despite my son being very strong-willed and somewhat stubborn, as soon as Emelye arrives for the lesson, he suddenly cooperates! She has a calming effect on him, and motivates him in a way I can't seem to. She is a very good pianist and has an excellent knowledge of the theory of music, thanks to her music degrees. She will also learn pieces that I want to play, in order to help me understand how it should sound. In addition to this, Emelye is extremely flexible and if we need to change times will always find a way to fit in my son’s lesson. She comes highly recommended from my son and I

Emelye was recommended to us by a friend whose son was already receiving piano lessons from her, and she has been teaching our two boys piano for the last 18 months. The results have been outstanding and both the boys have made excellent progress, and they really enjoy the lessons and Emelye's company. We would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone who was looking for piano tuition for children.

She is also very flexible and easy to get along with, a pleasure to deal with.
