About Alexandros
I'm a 2nd Year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate who sat Maths, Physics and Further Maths at A-level in 2019, achieving an A* grade in Maths as well A grades in the other 2 subjects. I've previously tutored GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry in Cambridge, as well as taking part in a local mentoring scheme for secondary schools.

My teaching method is designed to offer support to students who are struggling but thrive with practice; by working through problems with the student and offering conceptual guidance, I help them build up experience in tackling questions so that they're fully prepared when exam season comes. Having been fortunate enough to sit A-Levels in 2019 and GCSEs in 2017 with reasonable success (see below), I am ideally placed to help current students by offering contextualised, up-to-date support.
Unlike other subjects, Mathematics and Physics require more than just mindless regurgitation of facts. Papers are geared more towards testing a deeper understanding of curricula and their applications to various types of problems- as a result, the ideal approach towards studying these subjects differs slightly from other subjects. My sessions include the following:
- Example problems which are solved as a group/pair with the student(s) for them to better grasp the context of the topic
- Discussion of the theoretical components of topics, including extensive notes structured specifically for revision
- Exam technique preparation, such as how to tackle long-answer questions and time management
- Further reading/ STEM university application advice (A-Level students only)
