About Omar
I have just finished my first year in an MEng Computer Engineering course (scoring within the top 10% of my cohort) and intend on pursuing a PhD in Machine Learning.
I have extensive practical programming experience derived partially from a web application that I developed for my high school to aid in managing extra-curricular activities. I also have teaching experience in the form of delivering training in the use of educational software as a liaison between the Arabic and English-speaking teachers in my school back in Dubai. I intend on working as a lecturer after acquiring a PhD.
I firmly believe that personal attention is essential for ensuring that a student benefits the most from the learning experience. Specifically, I believe that - when confusion arises - a successful teacher follows through a students' understanding of a concept and identifies the area where a misconception may lie.
Furthermore, with programming, a practical approach needs to be followed. Consequently, I approach lessons with fun and engaging programming exercises to consolidate concepts and have a penchant for those tricky ones that require a fine understanding of the concept to carry out correctly!
