About Edgar Garcia
I am currently a first year master student at SDSU. I received my bachelor’s of science degree in Applied Physics from California State University San Marcos. During my time at CSUSM I was an active tutor at the STEM Center, and I have taken courses in math, physics, and chemistry. I really like to help students understand those difficult concepts in these fields. My goal is to help them become successful students.

My biggest strategy to increase student success rates are based on the idea that the concepts are important. The problem with this is that not everyone sees these concepts the same. My plan is to use multiple methods of delivery during our first session to find what method works best for you. I have 4 years of tutoring experience at CSU San Marcos’s STEM Center. I also have taken courses on Physics Education Research to learn about the different techniques that can be used to increase student success. Most recently I teach two physics lab courses at SDSU where I am currently enrolled as a graduate student in Medical Physics. Through out my college career I have studied how to help others learn the complex but totally understandable concepts of physics, math, and chemistry.

Edgar is incredible at teaching. He really dumbs-down difficult concepts and explains them in ways that allow you to not only grasp the material, but make connections to better understand and apply them. He's tutored me for my physics and calculus classes and honestly been the best tutor I've ever had. I wish he was able to tutor all my classes!!
I came to Edgar for help in my math courses. I have taken Pre-Calculus and Calculus and have needed Edgar’s help in both these classes. Edgar helped me understand the concepts which made understanding the class a lot easier. He really breaks things down for you because he wants you to really understand the concepts. Overall a really nice guy and an even better tutor.
